Sharing Your YouTube videos from a Google+ Page: Videos missing? Change your default channel.

Update February 2019: Y ouTube is removing all remaining Google+-related features   Update January 2017: with the final switch to the new Google+ web design, it's no longer possible to insert a YouTube video with the instructions here. You can share from the YouTube video watch page, or copy and paste the YouTube video link in a new post. --- It's easy to share a video from your YouTube channel on Google+. Simply choose the "Video" sharing option, switch to "Your YouTube videos" and select an upload from the list. Sounds straightforward, right? Unfortunately it sometimes doesn't work as expected:  your channel's video uploads may not be listed there - or worse, the videos from the wrong channel are displayed.  To fix that, you need to set the default channel for 3rd party applications your YouTube account . Gmail is sending email using your YouTube username: a fix

Has Gmail suddenly started sending messages using your YouTube username, rather than your personal or business name? If you recently created a Google+ Profile from your YouTube channel, that is likely the cause. And fortunately there is a fix! How to set the default channel for your YouTube account after linking to Google+

Note : on June 3, 2014 YouTube introduced an easier method for setting a default channel. Now you can either set the default channel when you sign in to YouTube, or you can go to the advanced settings for the channel you want to be the default to set that channel as the default. More details here. --------------------------------------------- Click the image to go to your YouTube advanced settings When you link your YouTube channel to a Google+ Page, the YouTube channel is moved from it's original Google account to the Google+ Page's special subsidiary Google account.  You can switch between your different YouTube accounts after signing in, but if you use third party video editing software like iMovie or Premiere , live video broadcasting tools like Wirecast , or some mobile applications or game consoles to access your YouTube channel, you may run into a problem. Many of those third party applications and devices are unable to switch between YouTube channels.

How to switch between YouTube channels after linking to a Google+ Page

Note March 2019: with latest version the YouTube, here are instructions for switching between channel identities . There have been a number of reports in the YouTube help forum from users who were shown a prompt asking them to update their channel  who found that after choosing the option to keep their username they can no longer find their video uploads, playlists or favorites. It usually turns out their old channel hasn't disappeared, but rather is just a bit trickier to get to: what has happened is that they've linked their YouTube channel to a Google+ Page. When a YouTube channel is linked to a Google+ Page, the channel is moved to the Google+ Page's special Google account. That means that the original Google account you used to sign into your YouTube channel can be used to create a new YouTube channel linked to your Google+ Profile.  You can then switch between the YouTube channel linked to your Google+ Page and the YouTube channel linked to your Google+ Pro

What does it mean when "YouTube is updating your channel's account" and how do you decline?

This will not affect your YouTube channel. ---- If you have been using YouTube for a while, and your YouTube channel is not currently linked to Google+, you have almost certainly seen popups that encourage you to link your YouTube channel to a Google+ Profile or Google+ Page. There are several different popup prompts that you might be shown. A common prompt says "YouTube is updating your channel's account" and offers you choices for linking your YouTube channel to a Google+ Page, rather than a Google+ Profile. So what do the options on the  YouTube is updating your channel's account mean? And how do decline the change?

What does it mean when YouTube offers you "New choices for your channel name" and how do you decline?

This will not affect your YouTube channel. --- If your YouTube channel is currently unlinked from Google+, from time to time when you are using YouTube you will see a popup that prompts to update your YouTube channel identity. If you do not wish to currently update your YouTube channel identity, you can decline that option. How you do that depends on exactly which prompt you are shown. See the examples below for more information on what the various choices mean and how you can at least temporarily dismiss the popup. The first example is a popup that is titled  New choices for your channel name You likely will only see this prompt if you are not using Google+ on your YouTube channel's Google account.

How to link your YouTube channel to a Google+ Page

Update February 2019: When consumer Google+ shuts down on April 2, 2019, all Google+ Pages will be deleted. This will NOT affect your YouTube channel or your YouTube channel's Brand Account.
