The free Adobe Premiere app is finally available for Android devices. Premiere is Adobe’s pro video editing app.

Install the app from the Google Play Store. It’s also available for iPhone and iPad (that launched a year ago).

YouTube and Video

A new experiment for YouTube Shopping: YouTube is testing optimized product tag placement. This will be based on how viewers interact with the tagged items. If viewers show interest, it will show on both the video and in the description. If viewers don’t engage, the tags will only show in the video description.

Google Vids now includes AI-generated video clips for both personal and Workspace accounts. Use it to generate new clips, edit existing clips, animate still images or extend clips for smooth transitions. It uses Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, Google’s latest video generation model. Output is up to 10 seconds (you set the duration) in HD (1080p).

On Twitch there are concerns that Stream Together/co-streaming combined view counts can be misused to affect where channels appear while browsing. To address this, Twitch Browse Category pages will use a channel’s individual viewer count when ranking by viewership.Combined viewer accounts appear on channel pages and the left navigation for followers (and this uses the combined viewcount).

X announced a totally new X Livestream API. It can let you go live, schedule broadcasts, moderate chat and get live events for alerts and overlays. As I noted a couple of weeks ago, Restream launched new X integrations, likely because they had early access to the new API. Other streaming services are likely to also update their X streaming features.

In Restream you can now position logos, captions and QR codes anywhere on the screen.

Web Publishing

If you have a website or blog with images, the new multimodal Search performance reports in Google Search Console will let you see how your content performs in searches with Google Lens, Circle to Search (Android), image uploads to Google Search and Chrome “Search this image”.

The Google Search September 2026 spam update is rolling out. This may take up to two weeks.

If your website runs on WordPress, be sure to install the WordPress 7.1.2 security release.

Social Media

Instagram head Adam Mosseri has been posting overviews about the Instagram Algorithm. Social Media Today has a nice recap.

Last month Meta settled a massive lawsuit and promised changes that would make Facebook and Instagram less harmful to teens. Facebook called on YouTube and TikTok to implement the same features. Now YouTube says that they already have teen protection measures in place, so they won’t implement Meta’s specific changes.

Starting this week, Discord has placed all users into age groups (Adult, Teen, Unconfirmed). Teens have safety restrictions on their accounts.  90% of users won’t need to confirm their age, with grouping based on things like age of the account, and which servers you belong to. If you need to confirm your age, you can now use a credit card, App store or AgeKey instead of providing an ID or selfie.

LinkedIn is expanding verification, “to help members and businesses build trust”. Verification for individuals on LinkedIn is free.

  • Verified members can verify connections that they worked or studied with. With enough confirmations, a verification badge will be automatically added.
  • Company Page admins can remove known imposter accounts.
  • They are testing workplace verification for current employment at some companies.
  • Verified on LinkedIn lets users connect their verified LinkedIn Profile to partner platforms like Truecaller, PeerSpot, Adobe, TrustRadius and UserTesting.

LinkedIn is rolling out a new AI proofreading feature. This does not fully rewrite your post, but rather “helps proofread and clarify while keeping your voice”. This is available to Premium subscribers.

LinkedIn is improving its identification of AI slop images, and giving members the option to report AI slop in messages.

X is expanding its “Under the Hood” reports. If you have made at least 10 posts in the prior month, and your account is at least 1 year old, you can see labels on your account and posts that could affect visibility. You can now also see if any post was blocked in a particular country after a legal demand.

If you have a Lens+ subscription on Snapchat there are new AI-powered tools:

  • Turn Chat messages into songs.
  • AI Photoshoot cleans up your photos where someone closed their eyes, got caught with an odd face, or the lighting is bad.
  • AI Remix of Snaps sent by your friends.
  • Change the style of your stickers.
  • AI-enhanced fonts for captions.

Tools

Google released 6 new creator-created tools for Google Flow:

Access to Google Flow requires AI Plus, Pro or Ultra or qualifying Workspace plan.

You can now use Adobe editing tools in Google Gemini, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Express and Firefly. You can upload your photos in a Gemini chat and ask Adobe to edit them, turn a single image into social media-ready versions, and customize templates. You can enable Adobe in the Gemini Personal Intelligence settings. Learn more.

Adobe is just one of the tools that you can connect to Gemini. There are new Connect Apps for Productivity (Airtable, Linear, monday.com, PandaDoc, Wispr AI, Zoho), creativity (Adobe, PicsArt, Squarespace, Webflow) and lifestyle (apartments.com, Experian, Peloton, SeatGeek).

If you use Gemini Notebook for research, you can refer to it when using Gemini to generate content in Google Docs. This grounds the output in the Notebook sources, and provinces inline citations. This is available to personal accounts with AI Pro and Ultra, and select Workspace plans.

Adobe also updated the Adobe for Claude plugin, adding Acrobat to tools like Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, and InDesign.

Microsoft launched a new version of the Copilot app. You can navigate through Home (your starting point), Office in Copilot, Code, and Autopilot (an assistive agent).
